Accessible and adapted property for rent

Many visitors to this website have been disappointed to find that there is very little accessible property advertised for rent.† Currently, our only regular advertisers of accessible rental property are Sheffield Homes who advertise up to 25 properties with us on a weekly basis.† This is great for people in Sheffield but is not a lot of help if you live elsewhere in the UK!

We need other providers of rental property (social and private) to follow the lead of Sheffield Homes.† If you have contact with (or work for) a business or organisation that lets residential property, please make them aware of us and our services, and encourage them to get in touch.† This would help us enormously in addressing the shortage of rental property.† An added bonus for social housing providers is that, working with APR to identify and promote accessible and adapted property enhances compliance with both the Disability Discrimination Act and the more recent Disability Equality Duty.† All Registered Social Landlords are required to produce a Disability Equality Action Plan and advertising accessible and adapted property on this website can make a significant contribution, as well as providing the information that disabled people need if they are to have real choice in housing.
